Our Garden in April

May 6, 2010

April went fast.  At the beginning of April, we were just starting to get daffodils.  Now, it feels like summer is just around the bend.  So, how did our garden grow in April?

Steve built an arbor for our garden.  Naturally, Ike tried to help.

Here's the arbor standing in the garden in all its arbory glory.

And the first seeds we planted are up!  And recognizable!

The mesclum is up, but the leaves are itty bitty–about the size of my thumb nail.

The peas are a bit bigger, but still no blossoms yet.

We also planted five blueberry bushes and seventy-five strawberry plants.  When they arrived in the mail, they looked nearly dead, but they perked up quickly.  We still won’t get any fruit until next year at the earliest.
