Your input is desired

May 11, 2010

So, which color should we paint the living room?  We have three fabulous choices, all with ridiculous names.  From top to bottom there’s “Shoreline,” “Oatlands Yellow,” and “Heart of Palm.”

The splash of paint near the painting is the same as the bottom one.

The curtains will be off-white with sage green around the edges.

Which is your favorite?  Vote below!  And by the way, I’m not adverse to getting yet another sample.  They’re only $3.  It’s like the grown-up version of buying nail polish after school.  So if you have another idea, let me know.

    I vote for Shoreline!

I think the second one is too dark. Paint an entire room that color and you might be overwhelmed.

But Shoreline is bright and Cheery.

I like the middle one best, but there isn’t a pastel wall in my house. I’m currently sitting in a room painted “Flaming Sword”. So my opinion might be an outlier.

Heart of Palm! The trouble with those little samples is you always get a pseudo Rothko painting which encourages you to think about your favorite color rather than which color will suit the room best.

Yeah, I know. But the alternative is putting one color on one wall and one color on another and I was concerned about the different lighting around the room.

i would pick whichever one complemented the art in the room or the furnishings or even the direction that the room faces. also, it would be good if the paint is compatible with the paint in adjacent rooms. ( however, i suspect that you’ve already painted it).
